In 1905 in Red Wing, Minnesota, Charles Beckman created a company to make a work boot that was both durable and comfortable. The company has proven plenty durable, too, and in 2005 took on a pretty cool project to celebrate its 100th year in business. Red Wing made a size 638.5 boot to show off their company pride. Some boot manufacturers only make half sizes in the popular size range, so it shows a little bit of extra personality that this one came out with a half size up in the 600s. Check out the video of making the boot here:
If you don’t want to see the video, just know the boot is 20 feet long, 16 feet high, and seven feet wide, and it is a left. No idea what the company’s plan is if someone orders the size; they’ll probably have to re-assemble the team of 60 volunteers to build the mate.
